Welcome to Secret Place. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Secret Place mobile application and web services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, downloading our app, or using any part of our Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Secret Place is a personal prayer journal application that helps you maintain a consistent prayer practice. The Service allows you to:

• Record spoken prayers using voice-to-text technology
• Create and organize prayer entries
• Review your prayer history and spiritual journey
• Export your prayer journal data to CSV format
• Set prayer reminders and goals

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Data Backup: Regularly exporting your prayer journal to CSV format and storing backups in a safe location
• Device Security: Maintaining the security of your device and any backups you create
• Data Transfer: If you change devices or reinstall the app, you must import your previously exported CSV backup to restore your prayer history
• Account Information: Keeping your account credentials secure and confidential
• Appropriate Use: Using the Service in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws

5. Data Loss

Because data is stored locally on your device, Secret Place is not responsible for any loss of data that may occur due to device loss, theft, damage, operating system updates, app deletion, device upgrades, or any other circumstance. We strongly encourage you to regularly backup your prayer journal using the CSV export feature.

6. Voice Transcription Services

When you use voice-to-text features, your audio may be processed by third-party AI services (such as OpenAI) to convert speech to text. While we use secure, encrypted connections, please be aware that your spoken words are temporarily processed by these services. The resulting text is then stored locally on your device. 7. Subscription and Payment

Secret Place may offer subscription-based premium features. By subscribing, you agree to:

• Pay the subscription fees as described in the app
• Automatic renewal unless cancelled 24 hours before the renewal date
• Subscription management through your device's app store
• No refunds for partial subscription periods

8. Intellectual Property

The Secret Place app, including its design, code, features, and content (excluding your personal prayer entries), is owned by Secret Place and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain full ownership of your prayer content.

9. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the app
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to overwhelm our services with excessive requests
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. Secret Place is a tool to support your prayer life, but it is not a substitute for pastoral counseling, mental health services, or medical advice. We make no guarantees about spiritual outcomes or experiences.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SECRET PLACE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PRAYER DATA, LOSS OF DEVICE FUNCTIONALITY, OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

13. Changes to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Remember to export your data before account termination.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the app or via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in the United States.
